Team Leader

Nucor Environmental is an industry leading Emergency Services provider based in western Canada. Specializing in Hazardous materials response, our teams also respond to a variety of environmental emergencies such as on-water spills, fires and floods in addition to planned work like confined space rescue standby and site remediation.  Nucor Environmental is looking to hire a full time Team Leader (preference given to candidates with NFPA 472 or NFPA 1001) to respond out of our Surrey B.C. location. Your role will include responding to a variety of Emergency and Non-Emergency calls. Work will consist of both office and field work.  Continuous NFPA or Pro Board training opportunities will be provided to the successful candidate.  Potential applicants must be eligible to work in Canada and be available for evening and weekend call outs.

Skills / Experience:

  • A technical understanding of spill response needs, containers, products, regulatory expectations

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, working within a busy, dynamic team.

  • Self-motivated and career oriented

  • Previous experience in chemical handling, transferring, and waste management

  • Health and Safety Background

  • Accuracy/ attention to detail

  • Ability to think outside of the box

  • Resourcefulness

Preferable Education:

  • Valid Driver’s License is a must

  • NFPA 472 Hazardous Materials Technician Level

  • NFPA 1001

  • NFPA 472 Tank Car/Tank Truck Specialist

  • Confined Space Rescue Certification

  • Combination of training, education and experience

Job Specifics

  • On call responsibilities

  • Manage and ensure all equipment and manpower remains in steady state of readiness
