August Team Feature: Trevor Morey

To continue with our new series to highlight some of the people who have made Nucor Environmental Solutions what it is today, and the people who are taking us into the future. This will be a monthly occurrence where we will single out a Nucor Environmental Solutions employee, to thank them while we all find out a little bit more about who they are, where they are from and what they do.

This Months selected employee is Industrial Project Manager Trevor Morey. Trevor is one of the most dedicated, hardworking, and innovative person Nucor Environmental Solutions has the pleasure of working in any capacity. He is a compassionate, caring, and never misses the opportunity to help or support clients, fellow co-workers, friends, family, and his local community. If anyone knows Trevor, he will give the shirt off his back to help you out.

Trevor was raised in a beautiful town called Miles Cove on Sunday Cove Island in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Trevor growing near the waters made him a water baby. If he could eat, sleep and live-in water he would. Trevor’s father was a dedicated Fisherman with his own commercial fishing vessel helped shape his strong work ethic growing up.

When Trevor is not at work, he enjoys and cherish most his time with his loving wife Brittany, his son Hudson, his 2 cats coco and mocha and his golden retriever Bailey. Living near beautiful Jasper Alberta, he seizes the moment in enjoying the fresh outdoors such as hiking, camping, and going on wild adventures on his side by side anywhere from the sand dunes to the Rocky Mountains.

BTW. Trevor loves Chicken chow mien, garlic cheese fingers and sweet sauce!

Trevor career started working in the Industrial scene in the East Coast, working for a large Industrial Services Company which also include traveling across Canada and the U.S. In 2013 Trevor took the leap of faith, packed all his belongs and drove across Canada and moved to Alberta Canada to further his career.

People who don’t know Trevor, He has been in the Industrial Cleaning Services for 15 plus years which included, Hydro Blasting up to 40,000psi, Wet/Dry Vacs, Chemical Cleaning, Shipyard dock maintenance cleaning, Hydro testing, Environmental waste disposal and the list goes on (Jack of all trades he is). Trevor’s journey wasn’t an easy one he worked at the bottom of the corporate ladder and earned his way to the top using determination and hard work. Looking to grow, Trevor wanted to increase his skill set, so he went to school at the University of British Columbia for his Project Manager Course and Certificate.

Why did Trevor Chose Nucor Environmental Solutions?

The small company that he uses to work for is growing and expanding to a huge corporate structure, people that use to have names now are just a number and the bottom line was important. Trevor felt the company he worked was headed in the wrong direction.

In April 2017 Trevor and a development team started a new Business plan and adventure with Nucor Environmental Solutions Ltd. introducing industrial Cleaning Services for Nucor Environmental Solutions. It services provided clients across Canada which includes Oil and Gas, Mine Services, Powering Generating Facilities, Pulp and Paper processing plants, Heavy Duty Machine Shops, and remote industrial site. The New industrial Division of Nucor Environmental Solutions right off the gate flourished with having 75 Experienced Operators and Technicians with over 100 years experience. The business plan Trevor was part was simple, build a team where employees are treated with respect, everyone is part of a family and safety is key. With being portrayed as a leader, Trevor from time to time will change hard hats and work in the field with co workers to help mentor and guide them to make them succeed. With this Act he gains the respect of not only his peers but his fellow co workers as well.

Trevor plays a Huge key role in Nucor Environmental Solutions achieved its goals and help the business to succeed each year by planning projects and acquiring new clients for Nucor Environmental Solutions. Whenever Trevor deals with clients, he goes above and beyond and takes the time to listens to the client, so the actuals work with them and not against them. Having the perfect formula to making a successful business and thinking outside the box ideas and combining partnerships with other companies, Trevor organization skill, experience in project planning, a respected leader and extraordinary customer service skill will help Nucor Environmental Solutions Industrial Division keep moving forward into the future and provide work for the industrial side for years to come.
